Investment Objective

The Fund’s investment objective is long-term growth of capital.

Investment Strategy

The Fund invests primarily in small to midcap companies across the globe that the Adviser believes are trading at particularly attractive valuations relative to their long-term potential. The companies typically fall into one of three categories at the time of purchase, based on assessments made by the Adviser.
  • Core Contrarian: Best-in-class growth companies in currently out-of-favor industries, sectors or geographies
  • Fallen Angels: High-quality growth companies that have hit a temporary setback
  • Undiscovered Gems: Smaller growth companies believed to be undervalued

Morningstar Category Average: Foreign Small/Mid Value
Foreign Small/Mid Value Foreign small/mid-value portfolios invest in international stocks that are smaller and less expensive than other stocks. These portfolios primarily invest in stocks that fall in the bottom 30% of each economically integrated market (such as Europe or Asia ex-Japan). Value is defined based on low valuations (low price ratios and high dividend yields) and slow growth (low growth rates for earnings, sales, book value, and cash flow). These portfolios typically will have less than 20% of assets invested in U.S. stocks.
